She has several books in publication and has been writing and editing 35+ years. She spends her time helping writers and authors bring their publications to life. She provides author services which are all listed on her website www.asoral.org. She began editing and publishing back in the early 80’s. She has been published in regional magazines, newsletters and on websites. She has edited books for
bestselling authors, and more. Currently she is co-authoring a book for a major entity in the music industry and completing a book in her KIL (Kidnapped in Love) series. LJ is careful not to overload herself with work since she loves doing a variety of things. As an entrepreneur she has an annual book event for authors and business owners. Her plate is always full as the Co-owner of Jamalajaz (www.jamalajaz.com), Vice President of AMB Training Core (www.ambtrainingcore.org) and CEO of a publishing company (www.pensivepublishinc.com). LJ holds several academic degrees and currently resides in the Atlanta, Georgia Metro with her musician/videographer/photographer husband (www.jamalajaz.com). LJ lives with MS, but she doesn’t let it stop or slow her down. Her publishing credits include:
1. A non-fiction book written in layman’s terms for newly diagnosed patients living with the chronic disease, multiple sclerosis (Bad Nerves: All about MS and stuff).
2. She has LJ is a survivor and is published in two books on relevant topics involving abuse (The Journey Women’s Edition and The Journey: Domestic Violence).
3. And I Trusted You (Romance) and What Is This World Coming To?(YA sci-fi/horror) are short story collections written under Jamela.
4. AMB Shorts is a compilation of short stories and flash fiction penned by Jamela and Ms.J. Each of these are available separately in eBook format on Amazon.
5. Run Trilogy is a novelette written by Ms.J.
6. Knowledge is Power is a children’s book which was co-written with Karen D. Neal and released in 2015.
7. Always Comes up Smelling Like Red Roses is a biographical novel by OG Mack Drama and co-authored by LJ Thomas
8. The Kidnapped in Love (KIL) series is her newest work. This series contains the initial novelette Kidnapped in Love and the second book Kidnapped in Love2:Backfire. The third book will be released in the spring of 2017.
9. LJ has a number of ghostwriting pieces published and doing well. She speaks out against domestic violence and abuse in general. She uses the pseudonyms (Jamela & Ms. J) for her fiction work. LJ believes everything good will take hard work and is worth having, especially if it benefits others. She enjoys writing most of all, but loves to read, cook and sing. She comes from a father who sang and passed the talent on to his children. In the past she has performed at weddings, social gatherings and talent shows for friends. Since music is such a big part of her life, she is constantly listening and critiquing what she hears. Her husband, Jaz has been writing songs since before they met 30 years ago. As a musician, songwriter, singer and photographer, he is a valuable person. She and her husband are in the process of starting their production company, which will focus on film, since the music studio has been in operation for years. In addition to this endeavor, LJ is adapting one of her successful short stories for film. She is honing her skills and enjoys writing scripts, treatments, film synopses and loglines.
