The Journal-Sun ran the original date for this railroad crossing work in our latest newspaper edition.

There has been an update via TxDOT that the date has moved from Thursday, Nov. 20 to Friday, Nov. 21.

UPDATE - Motorists who normally travel FM 74 (Houston Street) in Queen City will need to find an alternate route on Friday, November 21. Union Pacific Railroad will be closing the highway on this date to perform maintenance work on the railroad crossing on FM 74 near State Loop 236.

Portable message boards will be in place near the railroad crossing to warn motorists ahead of the scheduled road closure. The construction schedule and road closure can change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen problems.

For questions about the lane closures or construction work, call the Texas Department of Transportation Linden Maintenance Office at (903) 756-5031.
