I was on the phone with this woman I’ve been dealing with. She telling me she’s at Walmart, grabbing a few things for herself. Cool. No pressure.
So I say, “Grab me some T-shirts, some boxers, that $7 pack of socks, and a couple towels for the house while you’re there.” Nothing wild. I didn’t ask her to bring back the Ark of the Covenant. Just basics.
She hits me with, “Boy, I’m already in line. I’ll get it another time.”
And that’s when something in me switched.
I said, “Nah, don’t even worry about it. Matter fact? Delete my number.”
Because if you can’t pour into me with the same heart I pour into you, then you ain’t my peace — you’re a parasite. And she wanna argue, talking ‘bout, “So just because I ain’t get your boxers and T-shirts you trippin’ like this?”
No.
See… it was never about boxers.
It was never about socks.
It was the principle.
Three days ago I sent her money for her car note — no hesitation, no debate, not even a second thought. But when it’s time to show the same energy, suddenly she’s “already in line,” like stepping back for two minutes would break her spirit.
That’s when everything clicked:
Some people don’t love you — they love the benefits of having you.
They’re solid when they need you, but slippery when it’s time to reciprocate.
Kings… stop begging for the bare minimum.
If they can’t match effort, loyalty, or energy… you’re in the wrong aisle, looking for value in a clearance section that ain’t ever gonna restock.
