Paid a guy a few hundred dollars to build this set of steps to my basement. Just making sure it’ll hold.

How does it look?

2x8 joists are sitting on the house wall and run underneath/inside the house. Not fastened the typical way where the joists attach to a 2x8 board.

New floors, feels like a hole underneath the floors.

I recently got my floors sanded. There’s a spot on the floor where it feels like there’s a hole underneath it. Is this due over sanding? Is there anything I can do aside from redoing that piece? For context the floor had some cat p**s stains so he removed some pieces that were really damaged with new wood but didn’t do the entire room since it was in fairly good condition.

Can I run a gas stove off this gas line plumbed for my garage heater?

Basically, we just bought a gas stove(arrives next week) but we currently have an electric one and I need to run a new gas line to the stove.

The line coming into the house from the meter is a 2psi copper line.

The plumbing itself should be pretty easy to do with my unfinished basement, I just don’t know what equipment is preferred for this.

I would love to just T off the line going into my garage heater and go straight up to the stove but I also don’t want to starve both appliances of gas because I don’t have enough flow to each unit.

The garage heater is a 50,000 btu input and 40,000 output heater and my new stove is a standard 5 burner gas stove, I think 75,000 btu but I’m not 100% sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I just don’t know where to find the proper codes I need to follow would be. I tried contacting the city and talked to the specific inspector that would come out if I pulled a permit and he didn’t know either, he said to look somewhere on the great wide web.

The first pic is where I would like to put the T, where it goes left into the wall is the piping going into the garage.

The pic of the tree is, left is coming in from the meter, middle yellow valve is going to garage and red valve in the right is going to my fireplace

Correct fasteners for post/pier replacement?

I’m leveling my house and replacing about half the posts in my post/pier foundation. I’ve been using regular screws for the replacements as well as for the diagonal bracing but I wonder if nails/structural screws would be better? The posts will not be attached to the piers. The original build used 6d nails or nothing at all.

This is how the truss company repaired my truss. He sent me the structural engineer approval for it. I’m just wanting a quick explanation on how it works.
