There is not much I love more than being piled on by a bunch of cats! It’s such an awesome feeling! Our record is 11 in the bed at one time WITH US, what is your record number of cats that have all slept with you at once? Satu is super cuddly and always on me, Tank and Soren are always at our feet. Ember is a special addition this morning.

In true feline form, cats took their time deciding whether to jump into humans’ laps. In a comprehensive study from 2017 on the spread of domesticated cats, DNA analysis suggests that cats lived for thousands of years alongside humans before they were domesticated. During that time, their genes have changed little from those of wildcats, apart from picking up one recent tweak.

While it is true, cats are most attracted to and attached to "place" vs "person" due to their instinct to ensure safety and securing for protection, that doesn't mean they do not still take comfort in us, recognize us and have preferences as to which human is their human. This is an interesting little study about how cats recognize scent.
