Need to raise header 9"
Using simpson HUC46 to get rid of jacks so I can use standard 48x36 window.

Question: Would you take time to cut into the studs to save the stucco? Or tear everything out vertically? I'm DIY just trying to optimize effort/cost/things I haven't considered.

How do I tighten this k**b?
The k**b itself is really quite loose and is coming away from the metal fitting ring (if that makes any sense) I know the fix would be usually tighten it from the other side but because it attached to the refrigerator door I’m not sure. Help please!

Help!
This is the only spot in my house that has this issue. Right in the hallway. What can I do to fix it and make it match the rest of the floors?

I do not know what type of wood it is.

I am new to this house and to hardwood floors in general, so don’t take me over the coals too hard. I want to learn.

Before I can have the patio correctly fixed, is there anything to clean up the look?

How did I do wiring these up?
Setting up a Christmas lights show, wanted to make sure that these connections were good enough to avoid arcing or anything else awful? It feels very secure when I pull on them. I have two powered wires because I snapped off the tabs to power the outlets seperately.

Best approach to insulate cathedral ceiling supported by trusses
The trusses support a standing seam roof. The ceiling will be Sheetrock. From what I’ve read, cellulose would be best to combat echo. How do you manage voids within the truss?

Bubbling Vinyl like material?
This was a new build a few years ago from a national builder and the upper cabinet directly next to stove has started to bubble/come loose. I have no idea how I would even match the door to the rest so I’m hoping I can get some advice to make it acceptable. Thanks!

Cannot figure out the source of window/siding leak!
I noticed a water intrusion around my dining room window several months ago because it was causing the wall paneling to warp/bubble up (pictured). I had a contractor helping me out at the time and we removed a piece of the wall to try and find the source of the leak. One person would spray the window/siding with a hose outside and another would wait inside to locate the leak. The contractor said it was the seal on the inside of the window, so he removed all of the caulk and recaulked it. Since then, it is still leaking and I cannot pinpoint where it is coming from! I myself have recaulked around the window, the shutters, and some of the siding too and it still seems to leak whenever sprayed with the hose, just in a new location.

I am desperately trying to find a budget friendly way to fix this, but I haven't been able to find a contractor confident enough to tell me if it is the window, the siding, or something else. I do not think that it is not the roof! The window itself isn't that old (about 10 years). My brother says that houses aren't made to be sprayed with a hose for several minutes, and it is not a big deal. But if it wasn't an issue, I wouldn't have had the warped wall to begin with.

It is a single family home built in 1940. I believe the siding is asbestos! I really want to seal it off, put insulation in, and close the wall because it is starting to get cold where I am (North Carolina) plus I am sick of looking at it!

Any ideas?? I'd really appreciate some help and advice!!

Settlement cracks? Seeking advice
60 year old house, owned it for 10 years and the crack in the drywall has always been there but getting worse lately. About a quarter of the way up the stairs above the landing, and runs down to where hand rail starts. Almost looks like a previous repair is failing. This part of the house is on crawl space, wall is pretty much dead center of the floor plan. Crack in the crown molding comes and goes seasonally, ugly in this cold. Planning to sell in next year and been putting this repair off for awhile, ready to tackle it.

Would you caulk the molding and call it a day?

Best way to patch the drywall? Or hang a new sheet?

Or is this something that should be inspected and jacked up from crawl space? ( not drywall related I know, apologies)
