IN THIS ECONOMY?! 😩 The math is NOT mathing.
A lot of jobs are paying $15–$21 an hour.
Working 40 hours a week, that’s roughly:
💰 $15/hr = $2,600/month BEFORE taxes
💰 $18/hr = $3,120/month BEFORE taxes
💰 $21/hr = $3,640/month BEFORE taxes
Now somebody PLEASE explain how one person is supposed to pay:
🏠 Rent: $1,000–$1,900
🚗 Car payment: $400–$900
💡 Utilities/household bills: $400–$700
⛽️ Gas: $75/week = about $325/month
🛒 Groceries: $800/month
🧻 Toiletries, clothes & miscellaneous: $300–$500
That’s approximately $3,225–$5,125 EVERY MONTH.
And remember… your paycheck still has TAXES coming out! 😭
We haven’t added:
Childcare.
Car insurance.
Health insurance.
Debt.
Emergency expenses.
Savings.
Haircuts.
School expenses.
A flat tire.
A doctor visit.
Or God forbid you want to actually ENJOY LIFE. 😂
So when people say, “Just budget better,” I need them to understand that sometimes there isn’t a budgeting problem.
THERE’S AN INCOME-TO-COST-OF-LIVING PROBLEM.
Because how are people supposed to “save for a rainy day” when it’s raining EVERY PAYDAY?! 😩😂
PLEASE! SOMEBODY MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE.
