Know your roots!!!!!
But you still have to delve into the original AFRICANS

Slavery was abolished in the United States in 1865 - but the US had passed the Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves in 1807, meaning that from the first of January 1808 it was a federal crime to import slaves to the United States. (The slave owners had no problem with this because they had enough slaves on their plantations that they could breed more - and the lack of imports made theirs more valuable).

With it being fifty seven years since importing slaves had been legal 99.9% of slaves under the age of 57 were born and bred in the United States. The United States was their country; the only country they had ever lived in. There was nowhere to return to.

Meanwhile even before that there had been the occasional slave freed in the United States. (Thomas Jefferson for example, freed a total of ten slaves in his life and will out of the 200 or so he owned at any given time - all ten of which were close relatives of his slave Sally Hemmings who he had been sleeping with since she was 14). But among those that had been born in Africa where would they go back to?

If they came from Africa they had ended up as slaves to be sold to European slave traders somehow. Had they been born slaves in Africa? in which case why would that be an improvement? Had they been raided or conquered by a neighbouring tribe? In which case did they know their own tribe even still existed? No matter what they came from somewhere near a slave market and hadn’t seen Africa in however many years they’d been in the United States. They didn’t know for certain they knew anyone there while they had friends and family (at least of choice) in the United States. And probably the last time they had been on a ship it had been a multi-week nightmare with roughly one in six slaves dying in the trip.

So why didn’t they? Most of them were in their country; the country they were born and bred in. Most of the rest had nothing to go back to.

My people…
Did you know this???
Of course not, bc the narrative and people hid it from you!!!

The Bible says, “the truth shall set you free!”

In 1834, when the British Empire officially abolished slavery, the government organized what would become one of the largest transfers of wealth to private individuals in history. Yet, none of this money went to the people who had endured generations of forced labour and cruelty. Instead, it was han...
