“I bought 27 doors in six months.”

Sounds like 27 houses, right? Not necessarily.

In real estate, a “door” usually means one rentable unit. So a duplex can be 2 doors, a fourplex can be 4, and one apartment building could represent dozens.

But Dr. Joy’s bigger lesson is this: don’t compare your portfolio to somebody else’s headline.

More doors can also mean more financing, more payments, more tenants, more maintenance and more to manage. The goal isn’t just to build a BIG portfolio. It’s to build one you can actually sustain.

Is it the man’s Biblical responsibility to be the sole financial provider for his household?

📖 1 Timothy 5:8
“If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith…”

VS.

📖 Proverbs 31:10–31
She buys property, plants vineyards, trades profitably, sells goods and provides for her household.

So what does the Bible actually teach?

A: The man is called to lead and should be the primary financial provider.

B: Providing is a shared responsibility, and Biblical leadership does not mean the man must be the primary breadwinner.

Remember: Deconstruction isn’t the rejection of faith. It’s examining what you believe, why you believe it, and separating belief from feelings and what you’ve simply been taught.

What happens when your idea of “excellence” starts costing you?

In business, excellence isn’t just about delivering exceptional work. It’s also about building systems that don’t drain you or the people working with you.

At our Women in Corporate panel at , Tamara shared how watching the women she grew up with shaped her work ethic. But that same example eventually led her to undervalue her own services, often giving away her expertise for free in the name of “excellence.”

That’s the trap of perceived excellence: doing more doesn’t always mean you’re doing better.

Can WE speak things into existence, or is that authority God’s alone?

Romans 4:17 says God “calls into existence the things that do not exist.” But in Mark 11:23, Jesus tells believers to speak to the mountain.

This post, today, isn’t about the preachers in the clip, abracadabra, its origins, or whether certain language belongs in Christianity.

It’s about the theology of speaking things into existence.

Deconstruction isn’t always about rejecting what we were taught. Sometimes it’s going back to Scripture and asking: What does the text actually say?

So, can WE speak things into existence, or is that power reserved for God?

Do you agree?

Essentially, your financial situation, your wealth status is a product of your level of attentiveness and care around your money.

In a more literal sense, if you can’t afford to be healthy, you can’t afford much else and both are changeable. This is a part of coaching the whole person that this community specializes in.

It’s not about the amount of money you have or need in this case, but it’s about how you allocate it.

What things have you stopped blaming the devil for?

In our session “The Brain, The Mind & Spirituality for the Business Owner,” the audience responded live to a conversation about accountability.

In business, it’s easy to blame the devil, luck, or outside forces instead of examining our own choices. Church culture can also teach us to rely heavily church-isms, on prayer or Jesus to initiate and fix things, including our mental health.
