HOUSE OF JUNE'S name is representative of freedom and progression. Under the zodiac symbol of the Gemini lies the allegory of two creative elements coming together as one to form a house of artistic expression.

A few months ago, House of June sat down with to talk about the praxis of being Black women filmmakers, and the conversation was pure joy. From intentionally crafted questions to moments of ease with other Black woman, it felt honest and grounded. We talked about the work, the creative climate, and what it means to be in conversation with someone who truly understands the practice.

We’re happy to be apart of this conversation because it’s raw, a bit funny and intentional. Nothing felt forced and nothing needed dressing up. The exchange was rooted in real experiences amongst many filmmakers in the south or indie circuit. We hope you take a moment to watch it and sit with what resonates.

Hey fam, a quick window into what we’ve been working on. Episode one of P.M. S is in post production right now and episode two is already is approaching. We are dropping a look into our first episode because we want y’all close to the process, not just the premiere. The work lives in the making and our community is part of that..

AN ANTHOLOGY SHORT FILM SERIES

LOGLINE:
AN ANTHOLOGY OF VIVID, INTERCONNECTED STORIES DIVING INTO THE EMOTIONAL AND SURREAL EXPERIENCES OF PEOPLE NAVIGATING PMS — BLENDING HUMOR, HEARTBREAK, AND CATHARSIS THROUGH A BOLD MIX OF HORROR, SCI-FI, ABSURDISM, SURREALISM, AND DARK COMEDY.

FORMAT:
THREE SHORT FILMS, EACH 1–6 MINUTES LONG, THAT STAND ALONE YET CONNECT THEMATICALLY AND VISUALLY.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

WE’RE A PASSIONATE, INDIE TEAM PUTTING TOGETHER A SKELETON CREW TO BRING THIS AMBITIOUS AND VISUALLY STRIKING ANTHOLOGY TO LIFE. EACH STORY WILL EXPLORE A DIFFERENT GENRE AND STYLE, WITH A FOCUS ON METAPHORICAL STORYTELLING, STRONG VISUALS, AND GROUNDED EMOTION.

POSITIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MULTI-HYPHENATE, RESOURCEFUL CREW MEMBERS COMFORTABLE WEARING MULTIPLE HATS IN A LEAN PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT.
    •    Gaffer / Grip Swing PA – Someone who can light creatively and efficiently.
    •    Sound Mixer – Minimal gear footprint but high-quality capture.
    •    Production Designer / Art Swing – Handles props and set dressing to enhance each story’s unique world.
    •    Hair & Makeup (H/MU) Combo – Comfortable with light SFX
    •    PA (Production Assistant) – Eager to support and learn across departments.

SHOOT DETAILS
    •    Dates: September 13th and 14th
    •    Location: STONE MOUNTAIN + DECATUR
    •    Format: Short anthology – THREE segments in total

Compensation:
This is a passion project. There is no upfront pay, but if funding is secured, compensation will be provided on the backend. Meals, credit, and a collaborative, creative set are guaranteed.
