Tapeka served our community through teaching fiscal responsibility and entrepreneurship and by volunteering in our local classrooms as a member of Junior Achievement. She also served as a volunteer for NPR | WBHM and was a live remote broadcast participant for radio stations: 98.7 | 95.7 | 107.7, as well as a Focus Group Member for TEDx | TEDxBirmingham to assist speakers in refining the content of their TED Talk before their presentation.
Tapeka Fennell is an active member of UNA-USA, UN Women, UNICEF, and a Congressional Action Team Advocate who is passionately involved in combating the injustices against women and children worldwide, while pressing for political accountability as it pertains to the civil and legal rights of men, women, and children. Tapeka received an invitation to participate in the UNA-USA Members' Day at the UN headquarters in New York, NY, and an invitation to participate in the UNA-USA Leadership Summit in Washington, DC.
As a mom to one son (Jayden), daughter of Roosevelt and Rose Brown, Sister, Aunt, and a member of Faith Chapel Christian Center, Tapeka loves spending quality time celebrating her faith, family, and friends. She also enjoys traveling abroad celebrating and exploring various cultural experiences.
