CEO Chats with Alahna Lark ✨
Q: What does winning this Emmy mean to you?

08/29/2026

This premiere had the phone goin off the hook‼️ And apparently someone is cutting onions near my cell 🥲

There is no greater gift than the support of my loved ones. Hubby speaking life into my future successes, mom who ties it all back to baby stories, the sister behind the entire reel. You guys are my everything. 💗

Can’t wait to share “When Faith Calls” with the rest of the world 🌍 🙌🏽

Red carpet moments of the team part 2

Starting off with our men in black: the head of the lighting department, Darryl Christmas (L), is our Gaffer who kept the lighting beautiful and cinematic, crewing up and running his department across every location. Darryl is also the owner of Production+ and provided grip and lighting gear for the series.

On the right is Quinton Thomas, our Key Grip, who ran the grip department across two dozen locations, rigging and shaping every scene while keeping us safe on set.

And in the center is our Director/Producer Alahna Lark, owner of Lark Media, who led every department toward a shared understanding of the project’s cinematic world, and steered the project from development to final delivery.

Next up is our Colorist, Travis Sawyer (left, photographed with his wife Viviana Chavez).

Travis’s work on color set the tone for the entire series, bringing a richness and mood to every frame that elevated the whole project. He’s also a fantastic camera operator, and when we needed him, he stepped in to DP an important shoot day for us with enthusiasm.

Allison Olivas (pictured with her husband, Bryant Olivas) Project Manager for all Lark Media tasks, including paperwork, scheduling calls, and additional logistics needed to keep us moving forward with the schedule in mind.

Amelia Elola (pictured with Alahna Lark), Production Designer for key interviews. Her work included sourcing furniture to fit the historical buildings we filmed in, making it feel lived in instead of borrowed and ensuring it all translated beautifully on camera.

Brooklyn Lowe, Set Dresser for key interviews (including that of Dr. Bernice A King). She brought a sharp eye for detail, styling each room down to the smallest touch so every frame felt intentional and true to the era we were capturing.

With over 100 crew members there’s no amount of social media posts that could share the immense work that was done to bring “When Faith Calls” to life. So we just want to thank every team member; from the King Center to Lark Media for having a hand in bringin

Some red carpet moments from our team members at the “When Faith Calls” Premiere 🤩 (part 1)

Coming in hot is our Writer/Producer Nina Villani, looking absolutely boss! Nina poured her heart and soul into the script, and as producer, she led with intention and solutions through every phase of this project. Claps for Nina Villani 👏🏽

Our composer Daniel Bowen who provided an immaculate sonic world for the series. He had meetings with director Alahna Lark very early on in the post process to talk through the emotional intention behind each scene so he could translate it through music. His intentionality is felt throughout. Humble and talented. 🎶

Series creator Ashley Woods brought the vision for this series to life in collaboration with The King Center - shaping the treatment, contributing to the writing, and going as far as reading interviewees’ books to prep for every interview. His brilliant mind is all over this project. ✨ Ashley Woods

Part of the WFC archival dream team (from L-R): Nicholle St Leone, Archival Production Assistant, who was QUICK with her searches for the right image for the right moment, Dominique Luster, Archival Producer & Project Manager who owns The Luster Company and ensured what was in the edit was CLEARED honey, and the incomparable Malikah Berry Rogers, Archival Producer, Contributing Writer and on set King Center Liaison, she is absolutely brilliant and so easy to work with. We turned to her to articulate the King Center voice and perspective. Each of these ladies and the rest of the archival team dug deep to show you photos you’ve likely never seen before. 🗂️

To our visionary, Dr. Bernice King… thank you. ✨ This series exists because of your unwavering commitment to preserving and sharing your father and mother’s legacy. Getting to sit in rooms with you, hear your perspective, and help bring your vision for “When Faith Calls” to life has been an amazing opportunity. Your feedback on ensuring the faith theme remained the most important element of the series shows in every frame. Thank you for trusting us with something so sacred. 🙏🏾 Bernice A. King
