In this Behind The Boss episode, we explored the idea that women's strength isn't about choosing between being a CEO and being nurturing. It's about embracing the "and."

The modern woman is often both a leader in the boardroom and a gentle partner at home. This isn't a contradiction; it's a representation of a whole person.

We discussed how true partnership thrives when both individuals are celebrated for their full, complex identities, not just the parts that fit into a convenient box.

What are your non-negotiables in a partner?

These aren't preferences, like height or a love for the same movies, but core, unshakeable values that a relationship must have to succeed.

For professional women with demanding schedules, being clear on these deal-breakers is a matter of efficiency and emotional preservation.

Defining these 3-5 core principles serves as a filter, saving you time and energy from investing in connections that are fundamentally misaligned with your long-term vision.

Over 50, dating, and hair

I have been on this natural hair journey for the past 15 years now. I went natural, no chemicals, nothing. I went from twist-outs to deciding to start blow-drying it and doing a silk press.

My hair is soft and thin, and couldn't tolerate it. So I decided to stop doing silk presses and just started getting my hair braided. It gave my hair a rest; I started treating it and taking my vitamins. I love .

Going through menopause presented challenges as well; my hair was starting to thin, so I had to pause to address it and my health. I also had to visit the dermatologist. Now I'm in a better space about my hair and embracing what God has blessed me with.

What's your hair journey story? What's been working for you?

In our recent episode, we delved into the mental scripts we write for ourselves after a divorce.

It's a common story: a date doesn't go well, and the internal monologue begins. It's not just disappointment; it's a narrative that says our value has diminished.

We discussed how this pattern of linking dating to identity can hinder recovery more than the divorce itself.

The real work is in fostering a relationship with ourselves that is strong enough to withstand the ups and downs of meeting new people, allowing us to move forward with confidence and self-respect.

We often focus on the beginning of a date—the first impression, the initial conversation.

The end of the date is a distinct experience with its own emotional weight. That final coffee, the walk to the car, or the shared dessert—it’s a moment filled with potential and decision-making.

It’s where you decide if you want to see this person again.

Listen as Tony tells the story of the pecan cobbler. It wasn't just a dessert; it was a deliberate act to make the end of the date memorable. Thinking about it this way reframes the entire dating arc, giving that final chapter the significance it deserves.
