City of Atlanta Warming Centers
These are being activated when temperatures drop significantly — often overnight — to provide a warm place to stay. Call 311 or check local updates for exact times and openings:
Central Park Recreation Center — 400 Merritts Ave NE, Atlanta
Old Adamsville Recreation Center — 3404 Delmar Ln NW, Atlanta
DeKalb County Warming Centers (Active Dec. 14–16)
Activated due to freezing temps with 24-hour operations during this advisory period:
Frontline Response — 2585 Gresham Rd SE, Atlanta
St. Vincent de Paul Warming Center — 2050-C Chamblee Tucker Rd, Chamblee
Exchange Park Intergenerational Center — 2771 Columbia Dr, Decatur
Additional DeKalb-area transport pickup points are available if you need rides to these sites.
Cherokee County Emergency Warming Station
Woodstock City Church, 150 Ridgewalk Pkwy, Arrive 6–8 p.m., depart by 8 a.m. (emergency setup)
Gwinnett County Warming Stations (available when cold conditions trigger activation)
Open nightly typically 6 p.m.–7 a.m. during cold snaps:
Buford Senior Center — 2755 Sawnee Ave, Buford
Shorty Howell Park Activity Building — 2750 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth
Best Friend Park Gym — 6224 Jimmy Carter Blvd, Norcross
Gwinnett Community Resource Center — 3025 Bethany Church Rd, Snellville
Lawrenceville Senior Center — 225 Benson St, Lawrenceville
