In the startup or innovation space, things move lightning fast. In fact, waiting just a week for the next iteration of your customized circuit board to be printed could be a significant setback.

โ€œStartups move fast, and innovators need their circuit boards as quickly as possible. Waiting weeks for a specialized board isnโ€™t an option. Convexity Electronicsโ€™ goal is to be more local and convenient,โ€ shares Calla Scotch, Founder and Lead Technical Developer of Convexity Electronics.

๐Ÿ’ช Atlanta isnโ€™t just dreaming big, itโ€™s building big.
From new infrastructures like the beltline to innovation zones like Tech Square, the city is aligning talent, capital, and community toward a bold goal: becoming a top-five tech hub in the U.S.

๐ŸšŒ Last month, the Rise of the Rest bus rolled into town after a decade to see Atlantaโ€™s innovation ecosystem thriving. What they saw was a city powered by density, collaboration, and ambition. The Southeast's powerhouse aims to be a powerhouse for the whole country. โœจ

Pairing a lifelong interest in cooking, especially the gathering with friends and family around the table, with financial responsibility is what inspired Ivan Zou, the co-founder of Raccoon Eyes, to dig into the problem of food waste.

Ivan shares, โ€œWhen I started seeing how much food was being not eaten by students and wasted in kitchens, I was inspired to find a solution at the intersection of the kitchen and consumer that could help avoid both waste and economic cost.โ€

๐Ÿ‘‰ Read the full story about how Raccoon Eyes vision AI is tackling the 22 million pounds of food wasted each year in U.S. universities: https://buff.ly/0IkLE24

๐ŸŽค Imagine asking a virtual assistant technology to play your favorite song, only to have a different one start playing. Or providing a verbal command to a robotic tool, and it completes another action.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Now imagine you are at the doctorโ€™s office, where accuracy and precision are essential and lifesaving, and virtual assistant technology fails to understand or transcribe the correct information based on your unique voice, medical condition, accent, first language, tone, and more.

Special acknowledgment to linguist Dr. Lelia Glass from the School of Modern Languages, who added to the conversation. We also thank philosopher Dr. Robert Rosenberger, from the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy, for the thoughtful insights shared in his September IPaT lecture. Both Dr. Glass and Dr. Rosenberger are with the Ivan Allen School of Liberal Arts at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
