Meet Cameroonian born Lecomte Cyrielle, a 21-year-old designer/shoe maker. She is a holder of a first degree and is currently pursuing a masters in Business Law. Cyrielle started her shoe making business called awcy_africanfootwear in the first half of 2020 to respond to the immediate demand of growing urban communities for quality footwear at ideal prices as well as curb the superfluous import of shoes nationally. She believes As young women, support systems must be built to foster early and steady growth so everything else comes as a plus. To Cyrielle, « The determination of a woman is a gift to world, one which I am going to exploit to the best of my God given ability ». She currently employs 5 people permanently and over 13 part time who poise as wholesalers for her product as well as other young shoe startups for whom they manufacture customized pairs.
