Celebrating its 50th anniversary on June 20, 2026, Rhode Island Pride 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 in Providence has grown from a grassroots gathering of fewer than 100 participants in 1976 into one of New England’s most dynamic and beloved LGBTQIA+ celebrations. Today, the festival draws more than 50,000 attendees during the day and an additional 70,000 spectators for the iconic Illuminated Night Parade (which marks its own milestone 25th anniversary in 2026) transforming downtown Providence into a glowing, high-energy celebration of identity, community, and pride.

As New England’s largest LGBTQIA+ marketplace and business expo, PrideFest also features over 200 vendors, exhibitors, and nonprofit organizations, making it not only a major cultural moment but also a powerful platform for visibility, connection, and advocacy.

Vilnius has a one-of-a-kind spring tradition: every year, the city celebrates Šaltibarščiai, Lithuania’s iconic cold beetroot soup, with a playful city-wide festival. This year’s 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙣𝙞𝙪𝙨 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙥 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩, taking place from May 29 to 31, will introduce several new experiences, including a synchronized city-wide lunch called the Pink Break and a free Pink Soup Bus connecting key festival locations across the city.

Returning for the fourth time, the 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙣𝙞𝙪𝙨 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙥 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩 has become an international event, featuring a 50-meter pink water slide, a waiters’ race, and a walking competition that will paint the town pink. It brings focus to the cold beetroot soup, šaltibarščiai, a cold soup made with kefir, fresh vegetables, and boiled eggs, known for its striking pink colour and refreshing taste.

While deeply rooted in Lithuanian culinary tradition, the dish becomes a canvas for creativity during the festival, with restaurants and chefs across the city offering both classic and experimental interpretations.
