My new favorite hair accessory is something you probably already have at home! 🤓

Now that I’m pushing 50 my eyesight has really taken a turn for the worst!

I started wearing glasses for distance at around 10 years old.

30 years later I started needed glasses to see close up too.

I recently didn’t recognize someone who I’ve know for a few years now, because I couldn’t make out the details of her face while she was sitting right next to me.

I still haven’t recovered from that embarrassment!
I’m not stuck up I just can’t see you! 😭

So now I keep my readers on top of my head so I don’t leave the house without them.

Yall know how I love to accessorize my pixie with a good headband!

Now if I could just figure out how to make headbands that also correct vision. 🤔

My eye doc did suggest 1 contact for distance and 1 contact for close range but I haven’t taken her up on that.

Watch till the end to see why!

How are you coping with your aging eyes?!? 🤍🐝

You can tone your hair at home and it’s as easy as applying conditioner. 😍

I’ve been using Color Depositing Clenditioners for years!

A few of my favs are their Platinum, for keeping the yellow out of my blonde and I love their Light Pink & Lavender shades for when I want a fun color.

These are great for maintaining all sorts of hair colors and/or to add fun colors without a long term commitment as they eventually wash out.

The more you use them the more concentrated they become.

It’s amazing what a few accessories and lipstick can do!

I typically always bring out my wire headbands for beach days so when the wind is blowing my hair doesn’t look crazy.

Also if my bangs start getting on my nerves I can twist them into the headband to get them off my face.

I blot my lip color till it’s more of a stain. This way I don’t have to think about it again because it’s staying in place when I sweat.

Type Red for the Iinks to everything but the earrings.

POV: you’re struggling to curl your hair with the Cool Curl Pencil

The biggest mistakes I see:
• Curling hair that isn’t fully dry
• Skipping heat protectant
• Taking sections that are too big
• Moving too fast through the hair
• Inconsistent tension
• Messy uncombed sections
• Using the wrong heat setting

Smooth curls come from prep, tension, sectioning, and controlled heat.

My biggest tips:
• Hair should be 100% dry before heat
• Mist with heat protectant or workable hairspray
• Take small clean sections
• Clamp, turn, glide slowly and evenly
• Keep steady tension from roots to ends
• Smooth textured sections first if needed
• Fine hair = lower heat, resistant hair = higher heat

Frizz usually doesn’t come from the iron. It comes from technique or the lack.

Type Curl if you need this iron. 🤍🐝

Another week another hair tweak. ✂️

I’m not sure who started the rumor that short hair is low maintenance but THEY LIED!

I’m always finding hairs to trim or tweak, because neck hair grows back like the next day.

The upside is, styling it never takes more than 15 min.

My hair grows really fast in the spot that I cut in this video. I usually have to trim this part more often than the rest.

Where’s your fast growing spot? 🤍🐝

Pixie curls without the helmet hair 👏🏼

The trick is knowing when to curl and when to just bend the hair.

• Vertical curls = keep length
• Bend = creates movement on shortest hairs
• Curl = build height

I keep the sections small, switch up curl direction, separate with fingers or rattail comb, then scrunch in oil before hairspray so the curls stay soft instead of frizzy.

And the versatility of the Cool Curl Pencil is exactly why I reach for it on short hair.

I’m not saying you should quit Botox and cut bangs…but I’m not, not saying that either. 🤭🤍🐝

Add fun texture in 5 with this brush trick. 🧚

Textured mousse at the roots only because this one builds texture FAST.

Styling balm through the ends for slip and smoothness.

Round brush till fully dry and straight, then add a little oil once dry and brush through to smooth hair.

Then grab a small round brush from back in your pixie crop days to add texture, bend and movement throughout the blowout.

Finish with hairspray and you’re done.

Type texture for the Iinks to what I’m using. 🤍🐝
