Most moms aren’t tired because they “don’t rest enough.”
They’re tired because their brain never shuts off.
Appointments.
School emails.
Who needs what.
What’s running low.
What’s due tomorrow.
What can’t be forgotten.
That constant background noise in your head?
That’s the mental load.
And no—“just ask for help” doesn’t fix it when you’re the only one who notices what needs to be done in the first place.
If you’re the default parent, this isn’t weakness.
It’s unpaid, invisible labor.
And it’s exhausting.
If this put words to something you’ve felt but couldn’t explain, comment “seen.”
