My Journey: From Rock Bottom to Renewal
When I turned 40 in 2024, I found myself in the worst physical shape of my life. I knew something had to change. I decided to take action and started the Insanity program by Shaun T from Beachbody. If you’re familiar with those workouts, you know they are no joke when you really push yourself. I did the best I could, stayed committed, and completed all 63 days of the program (missing just a couple days here and there — but who's counting, right?). Over the course of two full months, I lost 20 pounds and gained a whole new sense of energy.
Wanting to keep the momentum going, a friend suggested I continue with P90X by Tony Horton. Having done some of these workouts years ago, I was excited to dive back in — and just like Insanity, P90X is no walk in the park when you really give it your all. I completed the full 91-day program and decided to run it a second time — but this time, I incorporated my gymnastics background and added extra calisthenics workouts, creating my own personal "P180X."
Fast forward to today: I’ve transitioned into designing and following my own home-based training routines.
The transformation you see here began in early July 2024 — but the real journey started long before that.
It all began on December 15, 2022, when I found myself not only in the worst physical shape of my life, but also in the darkest place mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. That was the day I made the decision to change — and recovery from addiction became, and still is, my number one priority.
Recovery has opened up so many doors for me — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Every day, I continue learning and growing. Whether my story inspires others or simply serves as a reminder to myself, I know without a doubt that the life I live today is far better than the one I lived before — not because my old life was “bad,” but because addiction blinded me from seeing the life that was truly possible.
To everyone who has helped me along the way — whether you realize it or not — thank you. I am forever grateful.
And always remember:
Life is a journey, not a destination.
We DO recover.
