Went up to see attic for the first time in our new to us 1940s House. Any ideas? We do not need storage because we have a 1200 square-foot garage and a basement that we will not be finishing ! My husband is 6’5 and he can’t really stand up completely but it’s still a super nice space!!!

Wanted to share this story about the chandelier I have hanging in my bedroom. After 43 years I sold my child at home and purchased a new home. My father had said to me. I have some stuff that you might be interested in so my mom says he’s gonna show you some ugly chandelier lol my dad showed me the chandelier and I fell in love with it. This was the chandelier that my grandmother had hanging in her dining room when my dad was growing up as a boy and when I was born. We played cards at the dining room table, countless Sunday dinners, birthdays, holidays, etc. Now I have the privilege of having this beautiful antique chandelier in my home 🏠 I tried to do research on it and all I do know is that is design from Spain.

We recently purchased a historic farm house and barn in Ohio.

We’ve been told it was an old stage coach stop. When researching the age of the home, the county has it listed as “old”.

We discovered what appears to be original square nails.

We would love to know if there are any guesses on the age of the home based on the nails.

This is an old stone home in rural Normandy that we just picked up that was built in the late 1800s but not lived in since the 1970s. No improvements were ever made really, no indoor plumbing and an old wood burning cook stove in the kitchen, outhouse out back. Doing the roof is the biggest challenge but the rest is mostly cosmetic and the first ever installation of plumbing, a septic system and new electricals throughout. At least I know what'll be keeping me busy for a couple years.
