Wow Placer County, y’all showed up! Our Adopt-a-Grandparent drive was a huge success. In 2024, 637 gifts were donated for our Adopt-a-Grandparent drive. This year, you helped us more than double that number to an incredible 1,807 gifts!

Because of you, hundreds of seniors will benefit first through Seniors First, receiving not only a gift but also the warmth of being remembered this holiday season. We are deeply grateful for everyone who participated in the drive this year!

CAL FIRE Law Enforcement and Placer County Sheriff’s Office Announce Arrest in Fire Investigation

On Monday, December 15, 2025, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement, in partnership with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, announced today the arrest of a Roseville man in connection with a months-long joint investigation following five arson fires set in August of this year. Mohmmad Ikram Rahim, 21, of Roseville, was located near his home and taken into custody. He was booked into the South Placer Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant for five counts of 451 PC – arson.

The arrest was the culmination of an extensive and coordinated investigation conducted by CAL FIRE Law Enforcement and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. On August 4th, 2025, CAL FIRE and PCSO responded to a series of five wildland fires set in the Ophir area of Placer County. From the beginning, investigators from both CAL FIRE and PCSO worked together to diligently collect video and photo evidence, conduct interviews with witnesses, and analyze electronic information related to the series of fires. Their collaborative efforts ultimately led to Rahim’s identification and his successful arrest this morning.

Authorities emphasize that arson poses a serious threat to public safety, property, and natural resources. CAL FIRE Law Enforcement and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office remain committed to holding individuals accountable for crimes that endanger our communities.
