The FBI Director just went on Fox News and said he has "evidence" the 2020 election was stolen. He refused to show it. He promised arrests "coming soon." This is the same man his own staff say passes out drunk behind locked doors.
Kash Patel appeared on Maria Bartiromo's Fox News show Sunday and made a series of extraordinary claims.
He said the FBI has "all the information we need" to prove Donald Trump's false claim that Joe Biden stole the 2020 election. He said the bureau is "going to be making arrests." He said it's "coming soon." He said Comey has already been indicted and "is not the only one."
He did not produce a single piece of evidence. He declined to describe what the evidence even is. He said only: "Stay tuned this week. You might see a thing or two."
Even Bartiromo, a reliable MAGA amplifier, pushed back. She pointed out that Trump and his allies have talked about election fraud for years without ever producing accountability.
She asked him directly: do you have any information verifying Trump's claim that the election was rigged?
His answer: "We have the information that backs President Trump's claim." No documents. No specifics. No evidence. Just a promise, on Fox News, that arrests are coming for the people who allegedly stole an election that was investigated and adjudicated more than sixty times in court and found to be legitimate every single time.
Patel made these claims 48 hours after The Atlantic published a devastating report based on interviews with more than two dozen current and former FBI officials. That report documented his excessive drinking, his unexplained absences, his aides rescheduling morning briefings around his hangovers, and his security detail at one point requesting breaching equipment because they couldn't wake him. Patel is reportedly terrified of being fired.
Senior administration officials are already discussing his replacement.
So what does he do? He goes on Fox News and promises to arrest the people who "stole" an election Trump lost five years ago. It's not a policy. It's an audition. It's a man who thinks his job depends on giving the president the headline he wants, using the FBI as the prop.
The Detroit ballots that the DOJ is now trying to seize. The indictment of Comey. The "conspiracy case" Patel says he's building. This is the FBI being weaponized in real time to manufacture the fraud that never happened.
