MY HEART IS FULL!!!!! Our first Art of Words-Poets’ Open Mic- was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! So much more than we could have even imagined. The air of acceptance, healing, and survival was dense. The appreciation for both the performers and audience members' contributions was immense!!!! So many people showed up that we had to keep pulling extra chairs out!!!

I just want to say a ginormous THANK YOU to everyone involved!! First and foremost, my partner Cathy Benedetto continues to amaze me and has put in a tremendous amount of work to make these events happen. Her beautiful acapella performance to cap off the show was the perfect conclusion. Of course, we have to thank everyone involved with the Aiken County Public Library for allowing us to present our vision to the public. Thank you to all of the open-mic performers and audience members!!!

We will be doing this FREE SHOW every third Thursday of the month. The next show is Thursday, February 15th and our featured performer will be the amazing Sa Jules Sa Jules Truth Spitta. Be on the lookout for the event page soon, and you may contact myself or Cathy if you need more information.

In just about a week we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the day Lokal Loudness officially touched ground for the very first time - February 10, 1992. Back when it was exciting to pick up print on paper and read it! Along the way there were literally thousands of interviews, reviews, columns, not to mention official Lokal Loudness events and shows such as the Masters Massacre Battle of the Bands, Rocking the Stocking Christmas concerts, the Lokal Loudness Choice Awards (an event that even drew a restraining order from nation television music company Music Choice (or is it Choice Music?) and to make things even more interesting even enjoyed helping with the creation of cool lokal events like 12 Bands of Christmas, and all kinds of other stuff! Together with thousands of incredible area musicians and venues we have even been honored to help raise funds and awareness for the community! Yes it's been 30 years and what a long, wild, crazy, fun, cool, funky, headbanging, boogie woogie strangely awesome trip it has been! How will we celebrate? Well at Stoney's art event on February 10th in Aiken he will unveil a special color Lokal Loudness 30th poster limited to only 30 copies! Each will be sold for $10 and once gone...well will gone! And as always, all funds will go to charity!
