Marriage doesnât make people boring. People make their marriage boring and then blame marriage for it.
You stopped being spontaneous. You stopped pursuing things that light you up. You stopped being curious about your partner. You stopped creating new experiences together. You settled into a routine and called it marriage when really itâs just two people who stopped trying.
Trone and I have lived so many lives together in what honestly doesnât feel like that long. Military life, entrepreneurship, new cities, new seasons, new versions of ourselves, weâve been through a lot and weâre still going.
And even in the middle of busy seasons, routines, our daughterâs schedule, everyday life, weâre still laughing. Still having conversations weâve never had before. Still finding ways to create something that feels like an adventure even when weâre just in the house.
Not because marriage magically keeps things interesting. Because we both take personal responsibility for keeping it that way.
Your marriage is only as interesting as the two people in it are willing to be. Stop waiting for marriage to be exciting and start being the kind of person who makes their marriage exciting.
Both of you. The energy your marriage has is a direct reflection of the energy both of you are bringing to it.
So before you say marriage is boring, ask yourself honestly, when did YOU stop being interesting?
