For all my music fans out there that love documentaries. This is out in theaters this weekend just wanna let you know. Not sure how long it will be in theaters. I know most of you like to watch things at home. But for some of us that like to go out to the theater and see these documentaries. You might want to catch this one. I’m sure it’s only playing in the big cities.

34 years ago , yes today! I saw my first lollapalooza show in Chicago (Tinley Park). At once was called the ‘World Music Amphitheater’. It is now called ‘Credit Union 1 Amphitheater’. This was the original first touring show. It would also be the first time I would see another one of my favorite bands live. Nine Inch Nails lives changed forever after this particular show, see the documentary on Lollapalooza for Trent’s story as to why. I will see NIN for the 5th time in a couple weeks in Denver with my Brother and some friends, and even as excited as the first time 34 years ago. Thus line up is one to remember. It sad to think of what Jane’s is going through right now, i’m hoping they can resolve their issues, but knowing it’s gonna take one particular person to make that happen.
I talk about Siouxsie in my latest episode of “80’s Alternative”, and how she lead the way for women in alternative music. Living Colour is still going strong today, and I still follow them on social media.
Ice-T has gone on to make a great career for himself, he is one of fathers of gansta-rap, and still performing with Body Count! Bu****le Surfers another pioneer in the alternative scene, I remember this also being the reason I would listen to them. And Henry Rollins a legend in the Punk Scene, would go o to speak to us about many things in his spoken word yours. Great memories of this show. ‘ The Power of Music’!

33 years ago today, I saw my favorite band for the first time! I was 18 years old. This festival would forever change my life, when it comes to the music I love. I still listen to all these bands , some more regularly than others.

It tells the story of our youth through Alternative Music, along with my friends who sit in with me today, Eric Hollis and Doug Lund.

We talk about how a little show in MTV's heyday, "120 Minutes", changed our outlook on the music we love. Being bullied for the things we were into, just to have it turned around and be the things that were 'cool'. How some bands started Alternative and became very popular. The women's movement in music, and how even more important it is today. Bands that stepped away, without a farewell tour. And one of our favorite artists and performers, Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, plus much more.
