It was an honor to be a judge for the guinea pig competition of the World’s Best Slider Competition in Dayton, Oregon!
This event will be rolled out across the country starting in February, sponsored by BBQ NATION, and you will be able to find competitions at many of the SCA-sanctioned events, as well as KCBS events.
The winners from each of these sanctioned events will receive a Golden Ticket to the World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada in Feb 2024!
The competitors were able to use whatever main ingredients they wanted to for the slider, whatever bun they wanted to use, and any seasonings or cooking methods they wanted to use. No rules!
The only curveball? We introduced 2 mystery ingredients during their cook- The first one was a packet of top Ramen noodles, and the second was a box of freeze dried cranberries. Each competitor needed to incorporate both of those ingredients into the recipes, however they felt was best. No rules!
