Personalized, hand printed letters often are more thoughtful to me than perfectly orchestrated typing. In today's world we find an increasing amount of technology and shortcuts to do the things we no longer need too. Yet as much as I love books; I love even more handwriting, and reading someones notes or journals with memories that are trapped inside the pages of someone else's perspective of how they experienced events.
““This is what the Lord says—the Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the Lord: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. ”Jeremiah 33:2-3 NLT
As we read other people's stories, their tests that became testimonies.. their messes that transformed into a message.. we begin to see how the Lord thinks of us. He gave us scripture as documentation.. of his love, his mercy, his grace and faithfulness..and it took people just like us to write it down, and pass it along each generation for us to read. Jeremiah tells us something about the Lords character.. he says; "Ask.. and I will reveal the secrets that were once hidden. The words and stories others tried to silence.. and only "I the lord, can reveal it in a way you will understand."
It's not a coincidence that verse 2 repeats who is talking.. "The Lord"..."the lord who made the earth.." and just in case we missed it, again it's repeated.. "the one who formed the earth, the lord is his name".
Have you been asking for a revelation? Are you okay with waiting for his response? He tells us how... by saying "ask". And then 'listen' as he reveals the secrets once silenced.
