Underfloor Heating System in Roman Empire :

Caldarium; a hot room found in "Classical Roman Baths". Caldarium consists of a room called Hypocaust, which is heated by furnace located under floor, and walls that reflect the heat.

Hypocaust is essentially a centralized heating system that produces hot air under flooring of room, which could also be transmitted to the walls using a series of pipes.

Hypocaust was raised above ground using pilae stacks which were pillars that supported layer of tiles. Layer of concrete was laid on tiles, finished with tiles of flooring of room above. It consisted of furnace from which hot air circulated through clay tiles into rooms above.
