Aurora has 5 new American FFA Degree recipients. Congratulations Jake Andrews, Marisol Castillo, Taylor Lauffer, Karina Lopez, and Luke Stellwagen on this accomplishment!

The American FFA Degree is the highest degree the National FFA Organization can bestow upon an FFA member. Less than 1% of FFA members earn the American FFA Degree. They will be recognized at the National FFA Convention in November.

The Aurora Recreation Center is excited to announce the introduction of Youth Flag Football for kids in grades PreK (4 years old) through 2nd.

Registration opens on Monday 7/21/2025 and will end on Friday 8/8/2025. registrations will be available online and the link below or in person at the Rec. Center.

Registration fees are only $40 for Family Members of the Rec. Center and $60 for Non-Members.

Practices will begin the week of August 18th and Games beginning the first Saturday in September.

We need players, volunteer coaches, sponsors, and officials. If you know anyone to fill these roles please contact us.

8:30am-10am .
Sports physicals will be on July 28th at the High school 9am-4pm.
Parent / player meeting will be at Engage Church at 6pm on August 10th .
Gear check out will be Monday August 11th at 5:30pm- 8pm at the Aurora Jr High.
Practices will begin August 12th 6-8pm at the little league ball fields in town.
( NOT Baldwin this year. )
All teams will wear black pants this season. L&M has got some stock in already !
We also have some youth padded pants that were donated if anyone can not find any.

🌪️ Food Waste Disposal Event — May 3, 2025 🌍

The City of Aurora, in partnership with Doty Trash Service, is hosting a special Food Waste Disposal Event to help our community recover after the recent storm and power outages.

🗓 Date: Saturday, May 3, 2025
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Location: White Park

We understand many residents have food items from refrigerators and freezers that need to be discarded safely. This event offers a convenient drop-off location for food waste only.

✅ Food items can remain packaged
🚫 No glass containers allowed

We are coordinating a separate limb & tree debris cleanup which will begin next week. Watch for additional posts.
