Prairie dog poisoning is being administered by Arapahoe County Open Space at Creekview Parkway across from Tagawa in Centennial. One of our members witnessed this on her way to work and was mortified that this colony she has loved and cherished is being gassed to death this week. These prairie dogs are forced to choke on carbon monoxide and die together in their toxic burrows because humans don't know how to coexist.

This is a VERY COMMON occurrence here in Colorado. Some nature-hating whiners who live in a prosperous neighborhood demand that Open Space hire someone to gas all the prairie dogs. Tens of thousands of prairie dogs are killed this way every year in Colorado. This one happened in Centennial on OUR public open space land. A few entitled homeowners from the HOA demanded the poisoning, and Arapahoe County Open Space happily complied.

Prairie dogs are a keystone species down to less than 1% of their historical populations. Prairie dogs recharge groundwater, aerate the soil, improve habitat, and provide food for hundreds of living beings. Their health is the health of the entire biotic community.
This culture of infinite growth on a finite planet is ruthless and oblivious to the destruction it forces on the natural world. There will be a breaking point and the non-humans are breaking towards extinction. We will be next.

This man owns QDC Ranch Services. As you can see in the video below, he is ALWAYS busy killing. He takes great pleasure in killing thousands of animals he so clearly hates. I am sure he has all kinds of justifications for the atrocities he commits "every day all day." What kind of a sick individual would do this for a living? We have a serious issue with mental illness in our culture and these people are rewarded for their sa**sm.

If you live in Arapahoe County, or if you care, please call Arapahoe Open Space to express your extreme disgust for this callous behavior. Many people think that Open Space land is supposed to preserve wildlife and land but this is NOT the case. They pander, as do most if not all, of our public officials to development, agriculture, and destruction. We need to organize and resist this insanity before it is too late for life as we know it in our one and only home.
