Pics from our outreach at the Vaccination event led by Hays Latinos United last weekend!

KOOP-TAMU Project joined hands with Hays Latinos United and successfully participated in the vaccination event on Saturday, March 13. Our work team distributed COVID-19 vaccination awareness and education materials to the event attendees, talked with community members about their health and wellbeing during the pandemic, and asked their vaccination-related experience. We will bring in community voices from this event in our upcoming ROCO radio show episode! Stay tuned! 📻

Check out our pics and some fancy footwork from last Sunday’s event! We partnered with for the Austin Country Flea market, helping spread COVID-19 vaccine education and collecting stories from the community about life in pandemic times. Our partners at Texas Folk Life recorded on the field, asking if people have taken up new hobbies or what’s helped their anxiety during the pandemic. We had a great time with artist Jennifer Steverson, who gave everyone a free block printing demo, enjoyed by all! We also had the very talented young musician Ricardo Cabrera play some tunes that caused some dancing and fancy footwork! Thanks to everyone who joined us in the festivities! Gracias! 🔁 Join us and our friends at Texas Folk Life this Sunday 2/27 at Austin Country Flea Market, from 10am - 2pm for a day of folk art demos, music, community shared stories, and free health resources.

📻 We’re partnering with our friends at Texas Folk Life for a stories program, giving you a chance to share your stories and experiences about life during the pandemic. Our friends at Texas Folk Life will be giving $25 cash gift cards incentives on hand, and giving away resource kits for families that include PPE and Covid 19 tests in partnership with VaxTogetherAustin. We will be assisting folks with vaccine education resources and helping people set up appointments. 😷 Vax for All, Y’all!
