When we saw this yard at first glance, it looked like it had been abandoned for years but after talking with a neighbor, I learned the truth. An elderly man actually owns this home, and while his son has moved in with him down the road to help take care of him, the two of them struggle to keep up with the yard. Between age, health challenges, and vision loss, it had gotten completely out of hand and I don’t think they know what to do at this point.
As if the front yard wasn’t enough, when we stepped into the backyard, it was a full-on jungle , waist-high weeds, thick brush, and trees that had fallen hadn’t been touched in years. In the middle of it all, we had some surprises. A Blessing Boys fan stops in the road to say hi, the neighbor who reached out brought us treats to keep us going (the boys absolutely loved that), and she also warned us about a massive bee infestation that had us keeping a close eye. I even had a bit of a scare myself when I was cutting down a tree with the chainsaw.
By the time we finished, the neighbor was absolutely shocked at the transformation since she had never been able to see the front of the house. And I’ve got to say, this one turned out amazing. Last week, we came out to this home after a neighbor reached out, worried about the man who lives here. His yard had gotten severely overgrown, and while we were able to take care of the front, the man inside never came to the door. We left with more questions than answers.

Well, today we’re back for week two, this time to tackle the backyard. And right away, his neighbor let us know she still hasn’t seen him or heard from him. That raised our concern even more — but we decided the least we could do was continue helping by clearing the yard.

It didn’t take long before we realized just how challenging this backyard was going to be. The grass was thick, the weeds were towering, and the place looked like it hadn’t been touched in years. But about halfway through, we stumbled across something that stopped us in our tracks — a major water leak flooding the yard. And in that moment, our concern for this man grew even deeper.

Out of caution, we made a call we’ve never had to make before…and before long, the police showed up at the door.

This yard was full of mystery, but the neighbors were extremely helpful along the way. And by the end, the transformation was incredible. Stay tuned to the end to see how this one turned out. We will have a full update at the very end after the transformation photos. Thanks for watching!

Today we pulled up to a yard that honestly looked like nobody had lived there for years. The grass was super high, the house was barely visible from the road. We knocked, but no one would answer so at first we thought maybe it was abandoned.
We went over to talk to the neighbor and she said, ‘No… someone lives here. He just won’t come to the door.’ She even came back again and tried knocking herself, but still… nothing. That’s when we knew there must be more to this story than just an overgrown yard.
We decided to transform this yard anyway since we knew from a conversation with the neighbor that he did need help and he did want something done.
As we worked many neighbors around started taking notice, coming out and asking what was going on. I honestly have never worked in a neighborhood that was so caring and honestly if they could have done the work themselves they would have. Hang in to the end, this one came out absolutely amazing. It took us all day to work on the front since “spoiler alert” both my mowers broke down on this job. So we will be back next week to take care of the back which is an absolute jungle. Let’s see if by the time we finish we can get the neighbor back to get this gentlemen to come to the door. So you guys think he will come out!

A woman reached out to us by email asking if we could help clean up the yard at her old home. She no longer lives there because the house itself isn’t safe to stay in, but over the years the yard has grown into a massive jungle.
We showed up thinking this was just another overgrown yard in need of some care. But shortly after we started working, her neighbors walked over… and gave us a warning that changed everything and made us much more cautious
We had no idea what we were stepping into that day, but the yard transformation still needed to be done. Recently a woman reached out to me about her yard, and as soon as I saw it, I knew why she needed help. The grass in the backyard was so tall, it was literally over my head. She told me she and her husband couldn’t keep up with it, and they’d had three different people come out, take a look… and then never come back. She wanted to surprise her husband with a full transformation—he has no idea we’re here today. They have a son who showed us around but he works six days a week and they just don’t have the equipment to handle something this overgrown. With the boys alongside me, we set out to give this yard the biggest transformation it’s ever seen. Stick around until the end to see not only how we tackled grass taller than me, but also this sweet woman’s reaction when she sees her backyard for the first time in a long time. Happy 6th Birthday to my little man, Zion! 🎉 He’s our youngest Blessing Boy, full of personality, curiosity, and more energy than I can keep up with. He keeps us laughing every single day and brings so much joy to our family. Love you, buddy. 💛

We just came across one of the strangest yards we’ve ever seen. The neighbors told us the homeowner—supposedly a hundred years old—vanished one day and never came back. No one knows where they went, and the place has been sitting like this ever since. The garage door was wide open, three cars were still here—two in the driveway and one literally parked in the yard—and inside the garage it was packed full of stuff. And if that’s not strange enough… they used to have a goat mow the lawn. With the boys by my side, we decided to knock on the door and see for ourselves. By the time we finished, the yard went from abandoned and overgrown to something the neighbors could actually be proud of. But in the end, we learned more about why this entire neighborhood has fallen into such rough shape—and the neighbors’ reaction to the transformation is something you’ll want to see. Seventeen years ago today, I became a dad for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing—but then you showed up, and something in me shifted forever.

Ty, you’ve always been a leader—sometimes loud and goofy, sometimes quiet and deep—but always present. You have a way of bringing joy into any room while still carrying a depth beyond your years.

We’ve done a lot of crazy things together… building this Blessing Boys journey is just one of them. But getting to do it with you—watching you grow into a man of character, strength, humor, and kindness—that’s the real reward.
