I love this phrase: "If you have to ask what it costs, you can't afford it." That describes most "ultralight" camping gear nicely. Unless you light your ci**rs with Franklins, or you're a super serious backpacker heading out on the Appalachian Trail for two months, it's a good idea to avoid "ultralight" camping gear. It's too expensive and not up to the abuse kids will dish out.

BSA needs a Power Tool Chip to let older Scouts who have taken appropriate training use normal hand power tools. The current rules are too restrictive and silly and unnecessarily complicate lots of service projects, especially Eagle projects.
