👋GOODBYE FOR NOW👋

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this filmmaking journey. I am truly grateful for all of you. This leads me to inform you that I will not be currently posting on this page. No, I am not giving up on filmmaking. Quite the opposite, my friends!

As of this year, I am the founder and owner of a new film and video production company called Shaper Films. But, we do not have a Facebook account; we’re keeping it simple. We are only on Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. If you want to continue being a part of this filmmaking journey, please follow us on those platforms! When using quick cuts in the beginning of this sequence, I kept the action in the center of the frame from shot to shot to provide ease for the viewer’s eyes. This keeps them from having to focus all around the screen to follow the action, which can be annoying in certain scenarios. I wanted the action to flow from one shot to the next.

Here’s the second shot that still turned out nice from the 2021 scrapped short film. It also has a handheld SnorriCam style to it, but the camera is not right in front of the subject. It’s more to the side like it’s running with him.

Comment your favorite commercial from over the years! Mine is easily the Geico caveman or Allstate mayhem guy. 😄 Have you ever considered why your favorite commercial is so memorable? As a filmmaker, I wrote about this topic so that business owners and entrepreneurs like you could understand that this form of storytelling is within your grasp. I hope you gain some value from it.

Sharing some cool shots from a scrapped short film in 2021. This first shot has a handheld SnorriCam style to it. The subject (me 😄) had been running from someone and then stopped to see if he was still being pursued.

I love how colorful the basketball court is for this JBL spec ad. It gives a lot of pop and visual interest, especially for this shot. I’m also very happy with how the camera’s angle and movement turned out. 👌

Wowzers! 5 years ago, I made a fictional short film that was a huge milestone for me. The level of involvement and dedication I gave was greater than for any project that came before. 4 years ago on this day, it won “Best Production” at the 19th Annual DCF Film Fest. 🎉

I’ve definitely grown as a filmmaker since then, but that doesn’t make this short film any less of an impactful milestone. All glory to God!
