While driving I asked Janis if she recalled the death of James Byrd Jr. I asked, "what year do you think that was"
She felt maybe in the 70's. The reason I asked her was because of what I felt this country might fall back into with all the negativity towards people of colour brought by all the BS recently.
To refresh your memory James Byrd Jr. was a black man in Jasper, Texas who was chained to the back of a truck and dragged three miles until he was dead and was dropped off decapitated in front of an African American church. "Texas is leading the nation in incidents of white supremacist propaganda".
This happened on June 7, 1998. Again, June 7, 1998. That's 26 years ago.
In 1968 during the summer I worked as a trouble shooter for Nabisco and one of the sales reps took me to lunch in east Texas, where there was a sign that said, "N****rs eat in the back"
I was not happy and then a small white lady came into the place with a black girl. The man in the kitchen said "she eats in the back!"
The white lady said "MY N****er is gonna eat with me!" I was about to get up and go but the rep grabbed my arm and told me just eat.
The reason I bring this up is because there's 29 years difference from '69 to '98 and only 26 years difference from '98 and 2024.
It. I have witnessed much that man has created and unfortunately more that man has destroyed. Keep your friends and family close because we are about to go on an E-Ticket ride. Peace

As I get ready for my road trip to TX, I go get some odds and ends at Walmart and what song comes on from the start to the end? "Maniac" by Michael Sembello, and I look around and started to laugh. You see he had an affair with my wife and together they and Michaels then wife Luz turned me in to the federal government. The sad thing is that four FBI agents, three who had guns aimed to both temples and center of my forehead were told I was violent. This I understood by listening to the lead agent as he talked on the phone. You know how you can tell what the conversation is by just listening to the person next to you. Here is the conversation.
A. blahblahblah? B. Yes we have him. A. Blahblahblah? No, he was by himself. A blahblahblah B. Nooo He was a pussycat.
The reason I am going to TX is the beginning of meetings and see whether I go to LA or NY for the next meeting.
As we are all in the car I asked how they knew I was there and they said, "we could have had your paperwork for days and just got it processed." I said, "No One knew I was here." The agent sitting shotgun nodded to the other agent and the agent said. "we got a call in the valley, do you know who that could be" I answered "My wife" and with no hesitation both agents shrugged their shoulders up and said "OOooooo" and then said Your slate is clean now. Just go through the process. And another segment of Backwards On Purpose is born.

Today I had a late breakfast (1:15) and went to the nearest place which was Red Lobster. Knowing that they were going through some changes, I went ahead and wanted to see how it was since I had not eaten in a RL for over 20 years.
The hostess saw me and then after I said "one" she left, and I mean to the kitchen and saw her talking to a person who later I find out is the manager. After they came back to me after I yelled "YO" he began to tell me what has been happening and I stopped him and said, "You're the manager and all the people who don't show up you have to be and the first priority is to sit the customer down"
He agreed and apologized and brought my tea and we talked.
The reason I am bringing this up is because it's happening all over the US.
John, is a degreed chef and is doing management as a last golden years moment. We had a great conversation and let him know I had experience in the foods industry and always told my twins never take a management position because you average $6.00 and hour after being the people who don't show up.
He was blown away on the salaries the employees are on $7.50 and waiters $2.30. I just smiled and nodded my head.
He had one waitress, one man in the kitchen and John was a waiter, bar tender and also in the kitchen which should have 4 people, the floor 4 waiters/tresses.
The food was great and the biscuits are like they have always been.
I asked if he would consider being interviewed for the program and how RL is coming back from Chpt 13 and COVID. We'll see what happens. If there is one nearby, go try it.

Sir Brian May of Queen had a stroke last week and I having two it is patience that wins. I am playing this as he recovers. He has already started to play the guitar and will be getting stronger. This concert was amazing in many ways because Mercury was dying of AIDS and was told not to play. So watch the many styles of guitar work and the powerful voice of Mercury. Now I need to get back to rehearsal.
