Man, I am loving these new TEJANO cumbia songs coming out lately!!! This is what the genre has been needing for decades!
While the entire world rushes to stream them, with hundreds of thousands and even millions of streams and views, it’s sad to see that the outdated idea of what is or isn’t “Tejano” still continues like a damn broken record!
How can I say this with all due respect? This ain’t about you or your generation! Shoot, this ain’t even about mine anymore. If this genre is going to continue, then it needs to be about the next generation!
And the simple fact that you as a fan or artist can’t appreciate or take advantage of all the attention Tejano has been getting over the last few years — through Netflix, Frontera’s success, Karol G’s Tejano cumbias x2, and everything else — then maybe the problem isn’t them.
Maybe the problem is you?
All I’m saying is, if I were an artist or fan, I’d be thanking THEM for bringing life and attention back to this industry!
All I know is, my daughter is loving it. So trust me, it ain’t about you. It’s about them.
Remember that.
Stop keeping Tejano old. This argument is getting OLD already!
