City Council has approved major updates to the San Antonio Film Incentive (SAFI) — now offering rebates up to 45% (combined w/ state incentives) on eligible costs, making it one of the most competitive film incentive programs in the nation.

Partnered with the state’s historic $1.5B Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, this update strengthens Texas’ creative edge by:

🎥 Attracting high-profile productions
🎥 Expanding eligibility to include commercials, music videos & more
🎥 Investing in local crew, veterans, and workforce training

San Antonio’s film scene is booming — film permits up 165% since 2022 and ranked #20 on MovieMaker Magazine’s “Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker.”
