MicroAUSTIN is a blog created in January 2012, and it's driven by a team's passion for multimedia and all things 'Hyperlocal, Austin'. We use this vessel to deliver the voices and visuals of the 'micro' facets of the city. MicroAUSTIN is dedicated to celebrating our unique sense of community that we feel is threatened in this Knowledge Age. We wander the city using a boots-on-the-ground approach,

with our backpacks bulging with batteries, wires, cameras, XLR cables and deodorant. Hooray for bikers in Austin! Leave your two-wheeler at the shelter when you board the bus.

"On Friday, Aug. 24, Capital Metro inaugurated the first MetroBike shelter at Kramer Station — a fully enclosed, secure bike storage facility to improve cyclists’ access to MetroRail...."

On Friday, Aug. 24, Capital Metro inaugurated the first MetroBike shelter at Kramer Station — a fully enclosed, secure bike storage facility to improve cyclists’ access to MetroRail. Austin City Councilman and Capital Metro Board Member Chris Riley, Capital Metro President/CEO Linda Watson, City of Austin Bicycle Program Manager Annick Beaudet and Su Wilcox officially opened the new facility this morning and gave speeches about the importance of bike transit ridership, followed by bike shelter tours for the public.
