Sad to report that Marsha Weldon, Blaze's sister, passed away Saturday. Below is a note from her grandson, James Hardin.

Hello Friends,
My name is James Hardin, Marsha’s grandson. I want to take a moment to thank each of you for the love and support you’ve shown not only to Blaze, but also to my grandmother over the years. She truly cherished this community and held a deep love for all of you.
After a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, Memaw passed away Saturday. My mother was by her side, and I joined shortly after. She fought hard, and her faith remained strong until the very end.
Thank you all again for being a special part of something that meant so much to her.
Sincerely,
James Hardin

Review of Tish Hinojosa's new release. Contains sweet cover of Blaze's If I Could Only Fly.

Her opening title track is autobiographical, touching on her first meeting her longtime musical partner, Dykhuis, in 1988. She touches on living in Germany for 10 years, performing at the 1996 Olympic Games and often on Austin City Limits.

Lost Art Records is excited to share this chapter of Austin’s musical legacy and proud to showcase the power, spirit and honesty of Cody Hubach.
Cody Hubach was the real deal. The re-release of Cody’s 1999 recording, I Got The Blues, reveals the power and talent of one of Austin’s revered renegade songwriters. A gifted singer, songwriter and talented guitarist, Cody captivated audiences with heartfelt honesty. Long before “Americana” became a musical genre, Cody’s music intermingled the roots of country, folk and blues.
From the mid-60’s through the 90’s Cody regularly occupied the stages of the honkytonks and clubs at the heart of Austin’s music scene and throughout Central Texas. Cody held court at iconic venues including Threadgills, the Austin Outhouse, Spellmans, the Split Rail, the One Knight, Checkered Flag, AusTex Lounge, Giddy Ups and many more. His circle of outlaw compadres was filled by Blaze Foley, Jubal Clark and Calvin Russell.
The tracks here were recorded in 1999 in Driftwood, Texas by Lost John Casner shortly after Cody was diagnosed with cancer. They never benefited from wide distribution. Available now at Lostartrecords.com
