The first weekend of October, the Austin 48 Hour Film Project held a virtual 48-hour film festival aligned with groups from Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. On Friday, Oct 2nd, almost 100 groups in Texas drew two random genres (from horror to western to comedy to silent film) and had to create a film in the style of one or both. Additionally, every team's film had to include a character (Lloyd or Lorelei Hart, a student), a prop (hand sanitizer) and a line ("I don't think that is what it means"). On the evening of Oct 4th at 7:30, a completed film was due.
NeverStop Films was one of 27 teams in the Austin area to compete and we produced a film, "Hart Break". It was an absolute blast to make and we have been fortunate enough to be nominated in several categories including:
Best Use of Line
Best Use of Genre (drama)
Best Acting Ensemble
Best Musical Score
Best Directing
Best Editing
Best Writing
Best Actor
Audience Award
Best Film
The award ceremony for Austin is TONIGHT, Saturday November 28th at 6pm! Every film that was nominated will be shown during the award ceremony and the entire event will last two-hours. Austin and Dallas… two seemingly polar opposites on the Texas scale. What do they have in common, besides sharing the same 38 electoral votes, Interstate 35 and an appreciation for darn good food? Google will give you dozens of articles listing their differences, but similarities... that takes s...
