Once upon a time ago, our very own Justin Kirchhoff () once had to shell out a pretty penny after damaging a gorgeous floor for a heavy piano move during a commercial production. These days, we move heavy furniture virtually in Unreal Engine.

We collaborated with Ballet Austin once again to produce a commercial spot promoting their new original show by Stephen Mills, "Loves Gentle Spring". In this production we utilized Unreal Engine's tools with After Effects to bring these scenes to life! No AI was used in the making of this production :)

Virtual Interiors - Throwback (December 2023):

This commercial spot was produced by The Bear, a talented production company that made incredible use of the LED volume. The custom grocery store scene and two kitchens were developed by us. These featured photoscans that the Virtigo Team captured to ensure realism.

Preproduction:
Digital assets were created and scanned to be integrated into the virtual scene to add depth in our 2,500 sq ft studio.

Set:
Fridge and a kitchen counter for the tags.

Virtual Interiors (November 2023):
This short, written by Hunter Bartley, was created to showcase in camera-vfx with a variety of scenes including a desert, professor’s office, bar, jungle, museum and our favorite, the Temple.
We used the advantages of photogrammetry to integrate assets virtually and expand the scale of the temple scene.

Preproduction:
Minimal set pieces were created, purchased, scanned and integrated into the virtual scene to create depth and add detail in our 2,500 sq ft studio.

Virtual Interiors

Throwback (Feb 2023):
The Dell Blue team came to us for their first virtual production utilizing robotics and In-Camera VFX. Only the desk and products were brought in for the physical set pieces. Everything else was created in Unreal Engine, projected on our LED Volume and tracked in real time using a cinema robot live link connection.

Preproduction: 4 environments were created, reviewed and integrated in two weeks.

Set: Desk, Dell product, and physical office supplies.

Sometimes shooting on an LED volume only requires a handcrafted environment. We teamed up with our friends at The Bear last year to provide virtual production supervision, support, operation and our Stage 2 volume to produce this spot! Door No. 3 collaborated with the production teams to make this shoot possible.

All backgrounds were created by our VAD team, with scanned photogrammetry assets and great reference photos provided, by The Bear team, to use as a starting point to build the scenes.

This shoot was a wonderful example of simplifying the virtual production process by using photorealistic stills to project behind the talent with zero camera tracking. It was a blast working with The Bear team!
