Funny enough, directors of both these films were once in a relationship. “Lost In Translation” by Sofia Coppola was made to represent her side of the relationship, and how he always had to work leaving her alone in different countries. “Her” is Spike Jonez’s response to what it was like for him and getting over his divorce with Sofia Coppola.
