Founders & accepting the award for Director’s Choice Best Series: Dry Bones at film festival this weekend.

We had a great time at ARFF!!!!!! This film festival is a vibe! It’s exactly what we always wanted a film fest to be. Community. Friendships. Art. Support.

We were so happy to return to ARFF this year with two projects: Preserving Our Place and Dry Bones. We had 8 award nominations between the two projects, and two wins for Dry Bones. .watson_bijou.creole took Best Performer in a Series and we took the Directors Choice award. We were honored and humbled! ❤️

More than all that we hung out with friends we made last year and made tons of new friends and contacts this year! We hope to be back next year for the final ARFF.

We had an amazing shoot yesterday at Google’s Chelsea Studios in NYC. This is one of those new client/ old client things that happens when you work with large companies. We’ve worked with Google since around 2011, and with many different department. That’s part of agency life working with a big company. Just like networking outside of a company, if you do a good job for one department, sometimes you get recommended to others.

We are very familiar with Googles SF and Mountianview offices, but had never worked in the NYC studios before. That was a treat, because it meant working with long time friend and mentor

Another fun thing about this shoot was that we got to work with another long time friend, collaborator, and former SF office mate who snapped this pic and worked on site while and piped in remotely.

We are wrapping up this year with projects for Google, Scopely, and Autodesk. Stay tuned for more from Lavoi Creative. Also look out for announcements about three feature documentaries that we are developing including the next iteration of Roots of Fire.

Bay Area, we've got two film screenings this week.

A music video called Drop with Delores Galore that Jeremey directed and Abby produced is screening at Temescal Brewing in Oakland on Wednesday 10/11 at 7pm for Drunken Film Fest Oakland.

Then on Friday 10/13 at 6:15pm, the short documentary Preserving Our Place: Knowledge is Power that Jeremey directed and Abby produced is screening opening night at Green Fest San Francisco at the Roxie.

It would mean a lot if you could go to either of those screenings and support the festivals that are supporting our work.

Thank you to NPR’s for having us on today to talk all things Lavoi Creative & ! The episode will air next week on — we will let you know specifics soon! Thank you to host Peter Ricchiuti who led a great conversation with our co-founder & Julia DeLois from !

We came to be on one our our favorite NOLA NPR shows by sheer luck. Our other co-founder, was at the Milton H. Latter and shouted “Hey! I like your hat” to a stranger. That stranger turned out to be the producer of the radio show (who had recently seen Roots of Fire and loved it!). Conversations were had (dogs were petted by children), and lo and behold, a few months later… the Lavoi’s are eating pizza at and chatting about what we do and what we love to make.

We hope you enjoy the episode as much as we loved meeting & chatting with everyone today!
