Happy 1st birthday to my favorite bubba boy! Kane you are the light of our lives and we love you more than words could ever express.

To think one year ago I was waddling in to the hospital to birth a literal human baby…and hours later, a mom. It’s been the most rewarding year of our lives. We are so in love and so in awe of this little guy.

Kane has brought more life, adventure, joy and learnings to our life than we could’ve ever dreamed. Parenthood has stretched me, filled me & challenged me, but it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done. It has unlocked so much in me I didn’t know was there, strengthened our partnership as parents & instilled a sense of belonging I didn’t know I was missing.

Kane at 1 is saying dada, mama, doh (dog), he’s standing up, took a few first wobbly steps, he’s pushing his walker all around, he’s still an amazing little sleeper, a truly happy kiddo and the most silly and adventurous boy. Watching him learn and grow is so stinking fun and can’t wait to see his personality bloom. We’re completely obsessed and couldn’t be more grateful for this past year learning with him, loving on him and becoming.

11 👏 months 👏 old 👏
Getting emotional, because the next time I do a post like this we’ll have a one year old. Each month has brought so many new experiences, lessons, milestones & growth. Kane is moving and grooving his way around our house, he has 8 teeth, he’s clapping 👏, high fiving ✋, waving👋, and eating like a big boy (lord help us). He is silly as ever & truly is a ray of light in our lives. Every month he learns more and more & I can’t wait to see what the next month brings!

One year ago today, I was taking maternity photos with a big bump. Today, I got back our latest family photos featuring our 10.5-month-old!

To think a year ago, he was just some kick in my stomach. I spent my days getting ready for him, mentally preparing for delivery, anxiously awaiting to see what he would look like, how big he would be, and trying to learn as much as I could before his arrival.

No amount of daydreaming can truly prepare you for motherhood. It hits you like a punch in the face. But it is the most beautiful, humbling, and profound whirlwind ever. It’s morphed me in such a short period of time I can only imagine how much it will continue to teach me.

Looking at these photos—the bump then & him now—I wish I could tell my past self that the reality of motherhood is far, far better than the girl in the first photos could have ever imagined.

10 months of knowing this little angel on earth. He’s the best of us. Each month that passes we somehow learn to love deeper, to find even more joy & to expand ourselves more than we knew possible. Thank you for being the brightest light in our lives little guy.

9 months in and 9 months out. These last 9 have been hands down the best of our lives and seeing his little personality start to shine makes us not want to miss a moment.
Kane is crawling, eating (a lot), just learned to pull himself up & belly laughing. It just keeps getting better with our smiley boy.
