The live, local talk continues every weekend as a broad range of experts on money, gardening and health interact with Austin listeners. Public service has been a hallmark of Newsradio KLBJ during its many decades of service Austin. When citizens need help, the station rallies its listeners to provide time and resources to help those in need. That tradition of public service was recognized in 1994 when the prestigious Crystal Award from the National Association of Broadcasters was awarded to Newsradio KLBJ for its public service. KLBJ’s full-range of public service, from news/traffic/weather/talk to charity fund raising, was recognized by the National Association of Broadcasters as the station received the award for News Talk Station of the Year in America for 2004.
