One thing I think about a lot traveling is that different countries have different supply chains and different unilateral trade agreements, each with their different complex histories. It’s redundant but it’s worth saying slowly, the little trucks in the Philippines are as different from the little cars in Spain are different from the monstrous things in the US. Anyway! It’s a bittersweet feeling, teetering upon melancholic, to come home from such a fun and fulfilling trip. It had moments of typical beach vacation, moments of dancing and deep familial bonding across all generations, moments of awakening cultural awareness, there were sweet romantic moments of newlyweds dreaming of the future. But even without that stuff, it was two weeks spent getting to be with people who I’ve known my whole life, people who continue to surprise me with how special and unique they are. Here’s a pic of me and my Ma, the boss, the rich bitch herself (her words). I love ma and the life she’s given us all. Admittedly, I also love that this picture makes me look beefy and swole 🙉🙈🙊 Not pictured is my strongest muscle - my big stinkin heart ❤️🫰🏽❤️
