Happy birthday to my queen for life . I have a million and one reasons to love her but my favorite today is that she eats more real Filipino food more than some Filipinos I know - she’s long graduated past adobo lumpia and pancit. She’s been enjoying taho, sinigang, dinuguan, fried danggit for years. I’m pretty sure all that’s left is balut from a street vendor. Tbh there are foods I can’t remember the names of that we’ve both just shrugged and eaten with curiosity and zeal. To the uninitiated It might not sound like much but the real ones know. I’ve loved watching her blending in with the family in the Philippines over the years. I’ve loved seeing her love them and them love her too. Today we went island hopping to celebrate her day, and I’m pretty sure she had a great time ☺️ What a babe ❤️❤️❤️

41 hours later….18 hours over 3 planes from Austin to Seattle, to Manila, to Legazpi, then a short van ride to the boat dock, and a two hour boat ride later and we made it Masbate - the island and city where my moms side of the family grew up, and many of them still reside. My ma is semi-retired / semi-working, but plans to spend time split between here and Kentucky. My auntie Cinky the master architect helped her design and build a house out here. It’s amazing, to say the least. If you know Dr Maria you know she likes a house on a hill - and this one’s got a view straight to Mayon Volkano. Love yall - we’ll be back soon. Or maybe we’ll buy some motorcycles and never leave 😂 🇵🇭🏝️🌅🌄🌋

June 15 is Dads birthday on top of Father’s Day - this year is our first one without him. We still celebrate this day as we will forever. I love you Dad and I miss you always and so much about you being in my life.

One of my favorite little things is when I’m asleep and theres a storm that kind of wakes you up but you’re still asleep, and in the semi lucid state I’m thinking “oh yeah, hannah said it’s supposed to rain overnight but I forgot but now I remember” then I go back to sleep and forget it rained. Then I wake up and everything’s a little drenched and I’m like “oh yeah, last night there was a storm that kinda woke me up and in a weird semi lucent state I thought oh yeah hannah said it was gonna rain but I forgot and I was still asleep but kind of awake,” simultaneously remembering hannah telling me last night it was going to rain while we slept.

I’m really lucky to get to do the rad s**t I do with the rad people I do. I’m really looking forward to seeing how these turn out. It’s my first time on this side of the camera in a minute and let’s just say I have my fun 👺👺👺
