Atkinson and presented by Jenni Finlay Promotions, the Catfish Concert series provides incredible Americana music in an intimate setting. Catfish Concerts began over wine one sunny afternoon. Atkinson (author of I'll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt) and Jenni Finlay (Jenni Finlay Promotions) ordered a second glass at South Austin’s Enoteca wine bar and restaurant
, the two talked about how thankful they were for everything the Austin music community has given them: Lifelong friends. Atkinson and Finlay decided they could give back to those who have given them so much through Catfish Concerts. In our first four years, Mary Gauthier, Verlon Thompson, James McMurtry, David Olney, Sunny Sweeney, Tim Easton, Danny Barnes, Shinyribs' Kevin Russell, Greg Trooper, Walt Wilkins and dozens more have graced our stage. In that time, Atkinson and Finlay have gone on to found Eight 30 Records (Highway Prayer: A Tribute to Adam Carroll, Cold and Bitter Tears: The Songs of Ted Hawkins) and assumed co-ownership at the Cheatham Street Woodshed recording studio. Join us each March for our popular tribute to Townes Van Zandt. www.catfishconcerts.com
