A moment of APPRECIATION for the organizations and people who’ve been advocating for Texas film for decades, and to those who showed up this session to make history. It’s been a joy working alongside these hardworking and dedicated folks.

This community is the reason we’re here — no egos, just people who show up, do the work, and have each other’s backs. If you come to Texas, you’ll feel that right away.

The future of Texas Film just OFFICIALLY got a whole lot brighter 🌟. As of midnight on June 22, the new $1.5B film program that passed in the senate and the house WAS OFFICIALLY ENACTED INTO LAW. Thank you to Govenor Abbott, Lt Govenor Dan Patrick, Senator Joan Huffman, & Representative Todd Hunter for making the dreams of so many Texans a reality. And most importantly, thank you to our film community for always believing in TEXAS FILM and showing up this session to GIT-R-DONE 🤠🤠🤠 THE FUTURE OF FILM IS TEXAS

Recently we had the absolute privilege of presenting the TEXAS MADE AWARD to the cast & creatives of LANDMAN at the wonderful ATX TV FEST in Austin, TX. Landman is more than just a TV show - it represents a new era of filmmaking in Texas, one where Texas stories are created, produced, and celebrated right here in our home state.

A MONUMENTAL DAY. This morning, SB22 passed in the House of Representatives with a vote of 114 - 26!

While we were hoping for $500M, $300M every biennium for the next 10 years is NOTHING to complain about - this is a 1.5 BILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT YALL!!!. And this is just the start. We hope to up this amount next session. Now let’s get our movies & TV shows to Texas & make good on our promise to bring our stories home!

THANK YOU to our legislature and especially to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick for tirelessly championing film and believing in our industry - we cannot thank you enough. THANK YOU to our community and our film partners who have championed Texas film for decades - this win is yours! THANK YOU to everyone who’s been following along.

Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer sets the record straight ahead of tomorrow’s House hearing on film incentives:

1. Film incentives are not Hollywood handouts. Only Texas residents and Texas spending qualify — the money never leaves the state.
2. Most movies about Texas aren’t even filmed here anymore. We’re losing our stories — and the jobs that come with them — to Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Georgia.
3. That means we’re handing away billions in economic impact and letting other states profit off our identity.
4. Film shoots support more than filmmakers: restaurants, hotels, dry cleaners, carpenters, small businesses — the whole community benefits.

Let’s reclaim our stories — and bring the jobs home.
It’s time to get this pro-Texas program off the ground.
