15 Years ago this Week. After creating several "Chapters" for hosting "events" (not regular tour stops) for bands in Phoenix, Ft Wayne, Austin, Tampa Bay/Sarasota & Long Beach successfully, we wanted to create a tribute album that reflected the new sounds of the old ways, to further promote our business of bringing music to the streets of the towns we stuck a flag in. We were gifted a rerelease of Left Lane Cruiser's "Gettin Down On It" and decided to release both albums on March 3, 2009. It was because of these two albums, that Tom VandenAvond gifted his current releases with Hillgrass Bluebilly AND THEN Possessed By Paul James came at us with BRAND NEW MUSIC... the first person to ever bring us in on the ground level... Ten Foot Polecats, Restavrant followed shortly thereafter, another reissue rerelease from Weary Boys co-front man Mario Matteoli debut album and then our days with James Hand. We ended our run last year, with tributes to Johnny Cash and RL Burnside from everyone listed above, and were able secure tributes from Chuck D, Patrick Sweaney, Charlie Parr, Austin Lucas and many more to end a damn good run...and a mission..... accomplished.

During SXSW, Hillgrass Bluebilly took over Emos on Red River on St Patrick's Day. We started off covering expenses for T Model Ford to do an in-store performance at Antone's Record Shop . We commemorated the event by reinventing Antone's two-sided postcard all over town to include T Model Ford and all of the original Antone's Record stores design, logo and 10% off coupon. We all did each other right! From there, we headed into our evening with Possessed by Paul James , SXSW in full effect, streets closed, packed with thousands of people..... as they walked passed Emo's (inside) The HILLGRASS BLUEBILLY RECORDS & ENTERTAINMENT XSXSW Showcase brought that grimey roots to the streets..... and it was badass. Thank you Dirtyfoots, Antone's Record Shop, Emo's, Possessed by Paul James, Saint Patrick and Red River. We were welcomed... welcome to do what we wanted, where we wanted, and how we wanted to do it.
